Beach antics con'td

Beach bunny

Yesterday morning was Sabrina's very first time at the beach. She is usually pretty shy and slow to get involved when in a new surrounding but this time she loved it from the start. In all fairness there will be some kind of revenge on me when she grows up and looks back and sees the pictures of how dopey she looked in her sunglasses but it was windy and her eyes needed to be protected so they had to be worn. Anyway, when we arrived she made a beeline right to the water, sat down and started to play. She loved the sand, the water, finding seashells, you name it she was into it. I see many more beachy vacations in our future!

Welcome Baby Michl!!

Bet I made you all pause for a second there, but sorry to disappoint the baby is not going to be from Kyle and I but Kyle's brother Brian and his wife Elaine. Sue Ellen and I co-hosted a baby shower for the mom to be and her little one this past Saturday. Elaine made out like a bandit and a good time was had by all. Of course when Sab heard there was going to be cake and lots of new friends to make she had to make an appearance. Some pics from the day!

The adorable mom to be. The general consensus is that Elaine may have swallowed a basketball and is not really pregnant. Only time will tell.

Some cute baby outfits

The parents to be. Look how happy and excited they look. Boy are they in for it!! :)

Her expression says it all. "Why in the world did Daddy tie a balloon to the back of my shorts??"

Getting her daily exercise

Sabrina and I have started to take daily walks outside. I grabbed the camera the other day because she looked so darn cute. Don't you all think so??

Visit from old friends

A few weeks ago we had a visit from Kyle's college friend Matt, his wife Shawna and their little girl Bridget. As they live all the way across the country in San Francisco we dont get to see them often so we were excited when Matt called Kyle to let him know they were going to be in town for his neice's baptism. Sab and Bridget had fun playing with Sab's toys and making friends while us adults relaxed and got a chance to visit. Here are some pics from the day.

Happy "Dad Dad's" Day, Kyle!

Sabrina is such a lucky little girl to have Kyle as her father. From the moment she was born she has had Kyle wrapped around her tiny little finger. He really is such an amazing father. He will come home after a 13 hr day at work and have nothing but smiles and hugs for his little girl. He is patient, fun and very loving with her. To her he is a walking and breathing toy. It beings me such joy to see the two of them together. Kyle and his female mini me :)

This year's Father's Day was spent at an antique car show then at a BBQ at Uncle Brian and Aunt Elaine's house where Sabrina met a larger than life Frog and had her first taste of filet mignon, which she loved naturally.

I just want to thank Kyle for being so supportive and loving this past year as I adjusted to the changes of being a SAHM and caring for a young baby. I know I was not always that easy to be around but you were always patient and understanding. Thanks for being such an amazing partner!!

Go Horsie Go!!

Sab's birthday gift from her Uncle Tony was this awesome zebra that bounces, spins and make all sorts of fun and loud sounds. Needless to day she LOVED it and had a blast playing with it the other day.

Playing cars with Daddy

Sabrina got a really cool toy garage from her Dad as a birthday gift. It came with two cars, a tow truck and a sedan. The two truck and car came with what is known in Fisher Price lingo as "Little People". I am not going to comment on the fact that the tow truck driver is black and has an Afro and the car guy is Caucasian and holding a cell phone and a blackberry. Anyway we named the two truck driver Henry and for some reason the name Brian seemed perfect for the other figurine :) :) Sab loves loves loves these two toys and plays with them all day. She knows which figurine goes with which car and will toddle over with the "Brian" doll and the blue car for me to play with while she plays with "Henry" and his tow truck that makes very cool sounds. Here are some pics of her playing:

First Spaghetti Dinner!

Happy Birthday Sabrina!

Well Sabrina turned one on Thursday. I really cannot believe that a year ago today(Sunday) I was at home looking at this baby and thinking "What have I gotten myself into!" Its been a hectic year but also an amazing one. Sab has brought so much joy(and gray hair) to our lives that I cannot fathom our lives without her. She is a bright, funny, stubborn, daredevil of a child that makes me laugh at least 3 times a day with her antics(I cry only about once a day now :)

She started off her first birthday with some of her Daddy's sour cream pancakes which she literally inhaled. After a short nap we went off to her first Gymboree class. She was curious but a little shy in the group. We think that this is something that would be beneficial for her so she will be going again. After Gymboree her Daddy made her some yummy quesadillas and some fresh fruit for lunch. After a good long nap she enjoyed some play time on her new Little People garage she got for her birthday. She rounded up the evening with her first taste of spaghetti, which if I judged by the amount she ate as well as the amount that landed on her clothes, hair and floor, she loved. All in all not a shabby way for a baby to celebrate their first birthday!

Wake up cuddles!
