Baby Bowling

Kyle's favorite new hobby!

Taking aim!

Its a strike!!

Aunt "Rah Rah's" house

Sabrina and I spent our spring break with my Mom and Dad visiting my sister in Virginia Beach. While our main goal was to get loads of wedding planning done (mission accomplished there!) both Sabrina and I managed to get in some fun time as well. Sab got to practice her cruising and pulling up skills(she can now pretty much get herself up to the standing position from just about any position). Sabrina also "discovered" Winston and Lady and would squeal with glee every time she caught sight of one of them and then make a beeline straight for them. She was very curious about our four legged family members and spent lots of time exploring their ears, feet tails..you get the picture. I have to say those two dogs were patience personified. They would just lay there and thump their tails during her examinations, reaching over every now and again to give her a big wet doggie kiss. While Sabrina was learning all about dogs, I was at meetings looking at table linens, food tastings, bowling (best score was 118) and attending my first ever punk rock show. Yes you read that right, Kyle and I went and saw John's band (Constrictor) at a bar one night. While punk is not our first choice in music, I have to say I enjoyed listening to them play. They are very talented and John is awesome with the guitar. We also manged to get in a lot of time outdoors since the weather was in the high 70's for a few days. Kyle and I went on a bike ride down to the marina and Sabrina enjoyed lots of walks with Grandpa.

Somehow during all of this Sabrina also manged to cut four!!! teeth over a two day period. For those of you keeping track this makes a grand total of 8 chompers! We had a great time and cant wait to get back down there again!

Here are some pics from the trip!

Grandpa Mario catching Sabrina up on all the latest political news. He is obsessed people, obsessed!!!

Giving Winnie some love.

This is how my poor dad sleeps when both dogs are together:one across his feet and one on his head. Glad its him and not me :)

Quality time with Uncle John. He thought it was very cool how my Dora phone knew my name!

"All ready for my walk, Daddy!"

Big hugs from Aunt Laura or "Rah-Rah" as Sabrina took to shouting whenever Laura walked by.

Winston was very sad when he realized it was time for his new best friend, Sabrina, to go home.

10 mos old!!

This past month month Sabrina has grown and developed so much. She is now an expert and fast crawler. Her favorite new game is to crawl as fast as she can in the exact opposite direction from Mommy-especially when Mommy asks her to "come here". In Sabrina language that translates to "squeal, clap hands and then crawl so fast we often fall flat on our faces then turn and make sure Mommy is chasing". This is a fun game :) She also learned how to pull up to standing on just about anything, couches, the wall, Mommy and Daddy's legs. She is cruising pretty steadily and will stand without holding on to anything for a few seconds at a time. Walking can't be too far off now!

We are beginning to see some of her personality quirks. For example she is tenacious when it comes to getting what she wants. She will often make us think she has been successfully distracted but this is not the case, she is waiting until Mommy and Daddy are not paying as close attention then she will head right back to where she wanted to be in the first place. We are very blessed though, she is generally a very happy, playful and social baby. She only really cries when she is very very hungry or tired. She will play independently for a good amount of time but will make her way over to one of us for hugs and kisses when she needs some attention. She is also a very affectionate baby. She often initiates hugs and kisses and of course zerberts. Since she was an infant I would often lift her shirt and blow on her belly. It is really cute to see her crawl over to you, put her mouth on your arm, leg, belly or cheek and make a "mmmmm" sound then look up to see if you are laughing. She is a really curious child. She loves books and exploring new places and things. She can say Mama and Dad pretty well, but can have periods where she is very quiet. At those times I would love to know what is going on in that little head of hers.

Her favorite time of day-mealtime! She makes a "mmmmmm" sound the ENTIRE time she is being fed. She will also squeal and tense her whole body when she is eating a part she really likes.

Getting ready to go over to Grandma and Grandpa Martinez's house for a yummy Easter dinner.

Playdate!!

Sabrina and her good friend Katie met up last week for a long overdue play date. Kara and I were a little apprehensive about how the girls would get along, but as you can see our fears were totally unnecessary. They got along like they had been friends all their lives (which technically they have) and had a blast playing together.

She's mobile!

We have a crawler in the house now! Sabrina officially started to crawl a few days after she hit the 9 month mark. While we are excited she is growing developmentally, she sure is a lot more work. She has this uncanny ability to find the one thing in the room that we don't want her to touch and head straight for it. Kyle and I finally went to BRU this weekend and bought some childproofing supplies and a baby gate. Check out some video of her in action!

How can this be comfortable?

This is Sabrina's favorite sleeping position. Yup, that is her tush up in the air and her face smushed on the mattress. We think she has been hanging out too much with Lady and Winston as this is their pose when they want to play. We are not sure how this can be comfortable but as she is sleeping through the night still, we sure as heck are not going to try to change her!!
