A not too shabby birthday
All in all I would say that Sabrina's enjoyed second birthday. She got to have breakfast with Laura, Nanny and Poppy and she went shopping for party supplies. She also graduated from a highchair to her very own big girl booster seat. That was a bit hit. She also ate cake, opened presents, one of which was her very first baby doll complete with a mini stroller for Sab to take her on walks. She and "baby" immediately hit it off, so much so that our over excited over sugared child threw a fit when baby could not join her in the bath. Baby was also present for story time and of course got her very own mini arf arf (i.e stuffed dog)to keep her company during bedtime. So far Sab is an affectionate and gentle Mommy-hopefully this will last. Below are some pictures of our not so little girls big day.Mother's Day!
So yeah I know this is uber late but better late than never no? All of us moms gathered at my parents house for a pot luck this past Mother's Day. Food was good, company was good and the weather was spectacular-cant ask for more!! The day started off for me with breakfast in bed and wound up with us all going to see the new Star Trek movie. If you have not seen it yet you should, its very well done. Here are some pics from the day!

Sabrina is TWO!!!

Two is in all caps in the title because that is how she says the word, very loudly and very clearly. As I was getting ready to write this post I found myself being a little incredulous that our little girl is turning two. I know its a cliche but time really has flown by.
Sabrina is a very curious, sweet, affectionate, mischievous and funny little girl. She can be shy at times, esp in a large group or when she meets someone for the first time. After about 30 minutes she warms up and her personality starts to shine. She LOVES LOVES LOVES being outside and throws the mother of all tantrums when its time to go back inside. We usually have to bribe her with a snack so she goes in peacefully :) You see that is the only time she throws a tantrum, the rest of the time she shows her frustration by going off into a corner, facing away from you, putting her head in her hands and making the most pathetic sad face you have ever seen. Her sulks, as I call them, usually last a few minutes or so and then she is back to her smiling, sweet self. She loves to cuddle, esp when we are watching "The Little Einsteins", or Nine Nines as she calls them or reading a book. Hide and seek and the "night, night" game are her two favorite games. As you can imagine she is not the best hider, but she is a pretty good seeker :) The night night game is one she made up and basically involves her getting pillows, a blanket and two stuffed animals and making her playmate (i.e mom mom or daddy) lay on the floor next to her and pretend to be asleep. I like this game :)
She is very interested in clothes and really enjoys wearing cute outfits. All outfits, whether they are shorts and a tank top or a party dress MUST MUST MUST be accompanied by some type of hair doo dad. She will usually grab a purse before going out anywhere and knows when she needs her sneakers or her sandals. Whenever we are out shopping she has a definite opinion as to what she likes and does not like. That being said she is no priss-she loves to play in the yard and dig in the dirt. Thank God for that because I would have a hard time with a priss.
She seems to have a real love of learning. Whether its her letters, numbers, puzzles or figuring out how to do something by herself for the first time she tackles each new challenge head on and with no short amount of focus. Often I will name a color or a word and she looks at me and says "I know". At least she comes by her know-it-all-ness honestly :)
It has been a real joy to watch her grow and develop this past year. I am so excited to see what this next year has in store for us..well besides potty training :)
Happy Birthday Sabrina-your Daddy and I love you to bits! Thanks for putting up with us as we practice being parents on you :) We hope you enjoy your 3 day birthday celebration extravaganza :)
