The Grinch on ICE

We got to meet the Grinch! Luckily this was after his heart grew three sizes so he was super friendly!

On New Years Day Sabrina, Kyle and I were joined by our Aunt Carole and Uncle Jimmy and Laura and John for an outing to the Gaylord National Resort in DC. They had an exhibit called ICE where Chinese master ice carvers worked around the clock for months to bring to life Dr Seuss's How the Grinch Stole Christmas. It was a balmy 8 degrees inside the exhibit so they gave us all spiffy blue parkas to wear. I sorta felt like a life sized Smurf! These pictures do not do it justice, the whole experience was just awesome. We had just introduced Sabrina to the Grinch, first through the book then the movie so the timing was just perfect for her.

3 days of Christmas Fun

When I was compiling this post I thought to myself that it seems like ages ago that we took these pictures. Then I realized that yeah it was ages ago-what can I say life has been super busy but better late than never right?

This year we celebrated Christmas three days in a row. First on the 23rd we went over to the in laws house for the Michl family Christmas where we got to meet baby Sean for the first time. Evan and Sabrina were over the moon that they were reunited and to top it off there was presents and dessert :)

Christmas Eve was spent over at my parents house for the Martinez family Christmas. Again, lots of yummy food was eaten and there were even more presents to be had. Caleb caught on quickly that this whole Christmas thing was a pretty good deal :)

Christmas morning began with the kids waking up a few minutes later than normal. Their gift to Mommy and Daddy was very much appreciated! After tearing through presents-Sabrina was VERY "helpful" to Caleb with the opening of his gifts ;) Kyle began cooking the Christmas Feast. This year he made bacon wrapped tenderloin stuffed with crab meat, mushroom risotto, honey glazed roasted root veggies and his famous twice baked potatoes. We were joined by both of our families that live locally. Aunt Laura, Uncle John Winnie and Leon were there in spirit though but def missed!!
