11 mos old!!

After typing that it hit me that my little baby will turn 1 next month. Where did the time go? Time sure does fly fast when sleepless nights and millions of poopy diapers are involved :) Sabrina is doing really well these days. She is an intensely curious child who loves to explore new places, things and people. She is also super friendly and always has a smile for stranger. Somehow she just knows how adorable she is and is secure in the knowledge that whomever she is smiling at will be charmed enough to comment on what a cute little girl she is. Strangers often come up to me and comment on what a happy baby she is and they are right on the money. I am one of those blessed moms that has a baby who is bubbly and happy 99% of the time. That being said she is also stubborn, persistent and very mischievous. She HATES to wear her bib during feeding time, often resulting in WW3 between her and myself. I am at the point where duct tape is looking very appealing. She likes to test me constantly, often making a beeline for the areas in our house that she knows are off limits. She can be relied on to find the one speck of anything that is in the carpet and put said object in her mouth at warp speed and then absolutely refuse to open her mouth so I can fish out the rock or cheerio or whatever she has found.

It is also becoming quite clear that she has a pretty good sense of humor. She likes to make noises and faces that she knows I find funny so I will laugh at her antics. She knows zerberts on my stomach always make me giggle-somehow I never grew out of that-and will crawl over with this mischievously intent look on her face and dive bomb herself on my stomach, arm..leg and make a "mmm" noise then look up to make sure I am laughing. The other day while I was changing her diaper she was patting her stomach and then laughing hysterically at the hollow noise it made.

She loves to give kisses and will just spontaneously smooch her stuffed animals or one of us whenever she gets the urge. That really makes up for all the food related fights, let me tell you! Speaking of food she HATES being fed and would much rather feed herself so she now has waffles and pancakes for breakfast pretty regularly and she just inhales them.

She can stand for LONG minutes at a time now and will bend over to get a toy then straighten back up. She is also pretty adept at cruising but chooses to crawl still to get from point A to point B. She is good at sharing and will often hand a toy to you so you can see what she has, she snatches it back pretty quickly but the seeds for being a good playmate are definitely there. Every time she catches sight of another baby or small child she exclaims and points and tries to jump out of my arms or the stroller so she can go and make friends.

We are truly blessed to have such an amazing child.

Happy Birthday Sab!! Here are some pics of what the past month has brought us:
Nature walks with good friends where we learned all about snakes--we saw a BIG one while on our walk.
We FINALLY grew enough hair to develop "bed head"
She loves to use this to slide over the floor. It so cute the way she makes a vrooom noise while doing it.
